Nutrition Services

The HSC Pediatric Center provides a broad range of food services to meet your child’s needs. We offer select menus, early/late meals, meals for school and clinics, and snacks. We also try very hard to accommodate special food requests. When it comes to your child’s nutrition, we’ve got it covered!

Select Menu

Patients at HSCPC can make food choices, depending on dietary restrictions, using “Build Your Own Meal”. From a slice of tomato to a side of pickles, you have the choice to build the meals you desire.

The doctor will order the appropriate diet based on a child’s medical condition. If a child has special dietary needs, a dietitian will visit to discuss an individualized meal plan. Patients will receive menus on admission, and then daily on the breakfast tray. Our staff is available to meet with family members to assist in menu completion if the child isn’t old enough to do it.

Providing Meals

At HSC it is our goal to provide meal times that are flexible and meet the needs of the child and family. We encourage our patients to enjoy their meals in the dining rooms and families are welcome to attend. Parents can also bring in food from home with prior approval of the clinical staff. We provide refrigerators for food storage.
