Position: Registered Nurse

Requirements: The Registered Nurse gives direct and indirect care and provides supervision to the nursing staff regarding patient care. All efforts are directed towards continuous quality improvement and family centered care. May be utilized as an associate case manager, charge nurse, preceptor or code team member. In addition, staff in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patents status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departmental policy and procedure manual. The Registered Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, possess a current DC license and have one to two years pediatric experience. Position: House Supervisor

Requirements: The House Supervisor must have at least 5 years of experience of which three of those years should be in Pediatrics. At least one year of experience as a Charge Nurse, Supervisor or in a Management position. This individual will assumes responsibility for continued education and maintain skills. The Supervisor will demonstrate ability to prioritize the hospital demands to ensure patient needs are met. The Supervisor will demonstrate excellence in pediatric nursing, have strong leadership skills and have the ability to implement good interpersonal relations with all members of the hospital staff. Active listening skills, conflict mediation and the ability to facilitate change and build effective teams is required. A current DC RN license and current CPR and PALS certification is required. Position: Pediatric Care Aide

Position: Senior Physical Therapist

Requirements: The Senior Physical Therapist is a health professional who manages the Physical Therapy service of the Hospital and is responsible for the quality of care rendered to patients, for the maintenance of high standards of professional service and ethics, and for the accuracy and completeness of the required records and reports. This individual must exercise initiative and good judgment in planning, managing and evaluating the program. The Senior PT functions as an advanced proficient therapist, and provides direct patient care. Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Requirements: The Rehab Therapy Assistant performs routine tasks which support Rehabilitation Services within a specific hospital program. Under the supervision of a licensed/certified professional, provides treatment to patients. A high school level of knowledge is required. College training is preferred. Experience in the health care field, or in working with children with developmental disabilities. This individual must be 18 years of age and have knowledge of child development; safety to patients during treatment and precautionary measures to be taken; infection control principles and techniques. The Assistant will have the ability to follow supervising professional both verbally and in writing, express self clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Position: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Requirements: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible and accountable for delivery of individualized care to the patients under direction from the Occupational Therapists as prescribed by the referring physician and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The COTA utilizes Occupational Therapy procedures to perform interventions that are based on current clinical knowledge, established practice and that are age appropriate. The COTA must demonstrate a professional and enthusiastic interest in Pediatric program enhancement/development to address the diverse and holistic needs of this population. The COTA must have a working knowledge of the principles of Pediatric Occupational Therapy and have knowledge of growth and development and of diseases and disabilities. Position: Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist

Requirements: The Orthotics, Prosthetics and Equipment Department is looking for a part-time Occupational or Physical Therapist. The Staff Therapist will be responsible for evaluating patients for Durable Medical Equipment and completing necessary documentation, evaluating and casting patients for orthotics, evaluating for and fabricating custom splints and equipment modifications and assisting with/performing serial casting.
