Physical therapy helps children be as independent as possible, working on skills like rolling, crawling, sitting, standing and walking. Our physical therapists are trained in the study of development, balance and movement, and helping patients learn or relearn motor skills.
Speech & Language Therapy
Speech therapy helps children with speech, language and safe eating. Our speech team teaches children to pronounce words and make sentences correctly, ask and understand questions, help with stuttering and voice issues, eat and swallow safely, and use other forms of communication.
Occupational therapy helps children improve independence with daily activities like feeding, dressing and playing. Working to increase strength and coordination, our team can help children with tasks required for school or play, improve posture, balance and visual coordination, and understand sounds, sights and other movements.
Assistive Technology & Power Mobility
The Assistive Technology team works to improve the lives of children with disabilities through the use of technology, allowing them to communicate, learn, play, interact, access and better control their environment. Our team works to identify technology to improve independence in the home, school and community, as well as match children with the best mobility for their needs.
The equipment clinic maximizes the independence of children with disabilities through the evaluation and use of durable medical equipment (like wheelchairs) and orthotics (an artificial support or brace). Staff individually evaluate each child’s needs and bring together a team of health care professionals with state-of-the art equipment vendors to offer individualized support and services.
