What is an audiologist?

Audiologists are highly trained professionals who identify, assess, manage, and prevent hearing loss and other hearing related disorders.

What does an audiologist do at The HSC Pediatric Center?

• Assess and diagnosis hearing loss.

Services include:

• Behavioral Observation Audiometry
• Visual Reinforcement Audiometry
• Conditioned Play Audiometry
• Conventional Audiometry
• Tympanometry
• Perform Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) and Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) evaluations.
• Select, fit, and dispense hearing aids.
• Conduct newborn hearing screens.

Professional Credentials

Audiologists employed at The HSC Pediatric Center have earned masters and/or doctoral degrees from accredited colleges and universities. They also hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
